About Waves of English
Objectives:
The objectives of Waves of English are:
to create the awareness of the importance of English
to improve students’ English Language proficiency with back-to-basic programs
to promote the environment for fun learning of English
to provide support for teachers and promote sharing of best practices and materials
Waves of English activities:
The E-pocket
Writing 1000 simple and easy sentences to improve writing skills. It is constructed to help students with basic vocabulary and tenses.
GIFT (Gear up and Improve for Tomorrow)
An extension of E-pocket for Year 4, 5 and 6 students. Designed to help pupils build up their confidence in writing.
FATE (From Average to Excellence)
A handbook on how to teach students to write creatively using simple, easy-to-follow steps. Teachers will attend a workshop on how to use the handbook.

SEED – Speak English Every Day

Puzzle Galore
Sharing of best practices
Series of talks to share best practices of ESL teaching and learning amongst teachers.
